## What is Kaspa

KASPA, for those unaware, is a Cryptocurrency based on the GhostDAG protocol that has taken digital markets by storm. Kaspa is the fastest, open-source, decentralized & fully scalable Layer-1 in the world. The world’s first blockDAG – a digital ledger enabling parallel blocks and instant transaction confirmation – built on a robust proof-of-work engine with rapid single-second block intervals

<figure><img src="https://3796164876-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJi0zOuRJgGo2z4YNejHA%2Fuploads%2FAd9BN8SZp3pLuh4NOYin%2FKAS.png?alt=media&amp;token=23384271-3ab7-42ef-8f00-d7721f2868fd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

> Aside from being up 85,000% in price from its ATL, it has proven its efficacy as a sustainable long-term solution to the issues plagued by many legacy Blockchains. The heart of Kaspa's design is the GhostDAG protocol, a directed acyclic graph (DAG), a scalable generalization of the Bitcoin consensus. Unlike what you see in traditional linear blockchains, the GhostDAG structure processes multiple blocks in parallel, allowing them to coexist. Users can learn more at Kaspa.org

> KAS is arguably on track to become the fastest decentralized PoW cryptocurrency capable of overcoming scalability challenges!
>
> Miners and holders can also benefit from the rapid adoption in KAS at an institutional level as seen by recent Top Tier CEX listings.
>
> Kaspa is still relatively young and offers a vast playing field for scale and growth as almost all the trad-ecosystems visible on other chains are yet to incubate on Kaspa, a further potentially exponential growth-driver. This makes mining KAS, or participating in some form of KAS rewards a prospectively lucrative exercise.

# What does GhostDAG.org do

The GHOSTDAG ERC-20 Token allows users to enjoy the benefits of mined KAS without having to invest effort in the cumbersome task of procuring and managing KAS Mining Infrastructure

## Overview

**Bringing KASPA Mining to users on ETH as an ERC-20**

The GhostDAG token, symbol GDAG, is a fully minted ERC-20 Token with a Total supply of 28.7 Billion, in line with KASPA.\
\
**Trading Dynamics:** The GDAG Token employs a 4/0 Buy/Sell tax that is utilized to fund the ecosystem of Miners. Tax generated by the Project is utilized to procure and manage IceRiver and BitMain KAS miners, in addition to paying for operational expenses, marketing and CEX listings for the Token.

<figure><img src="https://3796164876-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJi0zOuRJgGo2z4YNejHA%2Fuploads%2F5fZjSoE3p2aJ0EoQ7Vsn%2FGDAGLogo.png?alt=media&amp;token=9f6938dd-1d7f-4955-8906-6ce8ef9131b2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The trading tax is further divided into 3% convert to ETH and 1% converted to auto-LP to ensure a stable trading pool. The Tax goes to the labeled Miner Funding wallet, easily trackable by all GDAG holders and can be pulled by the Deployer MineKaspa.eth&#x20;

The GDAG Contract is renounced and **only** a rescue function has been made available to pull the LP tokens from the CA for distributing as staking rewards.&#x20;

**No other modifications - modify buy or sell tax, trading limits, wallet holding limits etc can be executed.**

Post completion of Miner acquisition, mining operations will commence with an easily trackable and public dashboard that will allow GDAG holders to seamlessly identify the Th/s on offer and resultant rewards.&#x20;

The revenue will be distributed between GDAG holders and the GhostDAG.org project as follows:<br>

**50%** of Mining rewards less operational costs to GDAG holders

**30%** to GhostDAG.org (to be well noted that GhostDAG.org is a wholly owned project by Blocktools.org)

**20%** to TOOLS token holders

Initially, payouts will be in the form of ETH, pending propagation of an ERC-20 for wrapped Kaspa (wKAS) by the Team at KASPA, at which point 1:1 conversion to wKAS can be considered.&#x20;

\
The duration of future distribution and payouts are to be finalized via DAO Operations as the project will be decentralized with 80% liquidity under ownership of the GDAG community. Voting will establish whether to distribute revenue in KAS or liquidate the mined KAS to Stables or ETH for the distribution.

## Colocated Mining for 3rd Parties

With mining facilities located across 3 geographies to cater for BCP/DR and strong hands & feet presence for daily operations, GhostDAG remains committed to supporting and growing the Kaspa ecosystem. All facilities are inherently secure, with sufficient MW capacity and rack-space to scale.&#x20;

Institutions and other 3rd parties need not hold the GDAG token, neither are your revenues part of the GDAG distribution cycles. You are entitled to keep the entire mined revenue less agreed and signed service contract on Opex + Fees.&#x20;

**How it works:**

1. We procure miners on your behalf on successful receipt of payment, and invoice you the same
2. We agree on the Service Contract (flexible rates depending on size, however for smaller sizes of sub $100,000 orders and below, a flat 5% Service fee is charged)
3. You create a KASPA wallet, this can be created directly on a CEX such as Kucoin, MEXC etc&#x20;
4. You receive rewards in full every 24 hours via the trackable F2 Pool, which you will own and give us the ID (to map your devices)
5. At the completion of 30 days we invoice you the Service Fee inclusive of USD 0.1 kWh and you reimburse us for the same

**Note: Non-payment of Service Fee will result in miners being switched off and returned to the party (party to bear shipping cost).**&#x20;

**Device Maintenance:** All devices are purchased new. Any breakage under warranty can be addressed in two ways:&#x20;

A. Ship to local service center or factory source - Time consuming, Party pays shipping charges

B. Fix on-site with spare parts sourced through local dealerships - Faster, cost-effective

Party can decide whichever option is viable.&#x20;

With operations spread across 3 DCs, and ample rack space plus MW capacity, the GhostDAG mining facilities are ideal for institutions looking to mine at scale without the overheads and maintenance hassles. &#x20;

Enquiries are welcome. Site visits can be organized for successfully closed deals on a case by case basis.&#x20;

# Mining Equipment

The project focusses on 2 main ASIC providers to generate KAS rewards, IceRiver and Bitmain.

{% endhint %}

## IceRiver

At present, the KS3M 6 Th/s device has been selected as the core weapon of choice offering the best balance across cost of acquisition, maintenance and any other associated overheads. The added benefit of quicker ship times makes this a lucrative option.&#x20;

Although not as robust in quality as Bitmain, and without the added benefit of Bitmains extensive after sales support, IceRiver continues to make progress and we believe the risk reward is sufficient to derive meaningful value in daily operations. &#x20;

**Power Consumption:** 3200W

<figure><img src="https://3796164876-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJi0zOuRJgGo2z4YNejHA%2Fuploads%2FWJ6fw91Y8xvNCLHi3BkP%2F0_pK_tRdUEYq6ApSFf.png?alt=media&amp;token=740bfccb-68c7-4ff1-94db-2292b46cd0ac" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Bitmain

As a contingency measure to cut the overdependence on IceRiver, 3 x KS3 9.4 Th/s devices have also been procured with a roadmap item to add more in order to balance the risk across both product providers.&#x20;

The primary challenge in procuring Bitmain devices stems from longer delivery times, variable pricing identified in mid-month cycles basis underlying coin price, making it difficult to forecast procurement or engage in cost benefit analysis on overall proposition.&#x20;

However the DC will continue to scale and stock ample amount of Antminers to ensure exposure to the leader in the PoW mining space. &#x20;

**Power Consumption**: 3500W

# Mining: Learn more

Understanding more about KAS mining reward redistribution at GhostDAG.org

<details>

<summary>Step 1: Entering the GhostDAG ecosystem</summary>

As a first step, users looking to leverage KAS mining rewards in the form of an ERC-20 token can choose to acquire the GDAG Token. This acts as a tollgate to the GhostDAG mining ecosystem giving users an opportunity to partake in KAS mining revenue redistribution.&#x20;

The GDAG token trades on the Decentralized Exchange Uniswap and is available here:&#x20;

<https://app.uniswap.org/swap?outputCurrency=0x8bf30e9f44e5d068a9d0c20da22660997a532e33&chain=ethereum>

</details>

<details>

<summary>Step 2: How to navigate the GhostDAG ecosystem</summary>

In order to enable and foster decentralization through community ownership, it is important to be majority owners of the liquidity that drives the Project. Therefore holders of GDAG who want to benefit from Mining rewards will require to acquire GDAG - WETH LP Tokens via a staking Pool.&#x20;

In brief, holders of GDAG stake the token, and receive GDAG - WETH LP Tokens as a reward. The LP Tokens then are further staked in the mining rewards pool to earn ETH (generated from the KAS mined and then liquidated for ETH)

**Users will note that as of 19th Dec'23 to 20th Jan'24, the mined KAS rewards will be airdropped to Pool 1 stakers based on amount of GDAG Staked. Post this, a revaluation will take place on the need to proceed with a Pool 2 or not.**

**Why stake GDAG tokens instead of just airdropping rewards?**

Staking GDAG Tokens cements the long term view of holders interested in the Projects overall success. It is not mandatory to stake, users can hold and trade the GDAG tokens off their own free will without engaging with the staking pools, but will also forefeit the mining rewards as a result.&#x20;

**What is this GDAG - WETH LP Token?**

Please find a good primer here on what is an LP Token: \
\
<https://www.upside.gg/the-ledger/guide-to-liquidity-provider-tokens#:~:text=Liquidity%20Provider%20Tokens%2C%20or%20LP,for%20the%20trading%20of%20cryptocurrencies.>

and

<https://docs.uniswap.org/contracts/v2/concepts/protocol-overview/how-uniswap-works>

**Do I need to buy this LP Token additionally?**

An LP Token cannot be typically bought (unless it is paired with another tradeable cryptocurrency such as USDT or WETH). It can be created by adding Liquidity to the trading pair. i.e. User supplies equal amounts of underlying Token and WETH and in return receives LP Tokens that also earn 0.3% of fees on daily traded volume relevant to their share of LP Tokens provided into the pool

**How do I get the GDAG - WETH LP Tokens then?**&#x20;

A user may feel free to add liquidity to the GDAG pool and create fresh LP Tokens for themselves. However at the outset, 60% of GDAG Liquidity (amounting to roughly $900,000 at current market price, this varies as the token trades) will be given out to GDAG holders who are participating in the staking Pool. Holders can stake their GDAG tokens and receive the LP Tokens as a reward basis their Tier.&#x20;

**I have GDAG - WETH LP Tokens, what next?**&#x20;

You will stake them in the 2nd pool, the mining rewards pool, to receive your share of ETH generated from the KAS mining activity, again relevant to your respective Tier. &#x20;

**Why are there tiers in staking, why not give out fixed percentage?**&#x20;

Tiers help incentivize protocol growth. Additionally having a fixed amount has been found to make most of the existing staking protocols excessively whale friendly. Therefore a tiered approach has been used to balance out the game theory and allow for everyone to participate based on their respective strategy to seek yield. <br>

</details>

<details>

<summary>Step 3: Monitoring Rewards generation</summary>

A holder who decides to stake GDAG tokens, and subsequently stake the earned GDAG - WETH LP Tokens to participate in the mining rewards, can track the performance of the daily mining activities via the F2 dashboard. In order to ensure ease of access and transparent governance, the GhostDAG.org mining operations will be conducted via F2pool.&#x20;

Details on the same will be available on quicklinks and website as soon as operations are live. Current ETA 15th Dec 2023.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Institutions: DC colocation</summary>

As a licensed and regulated entity, GhostDAG.org is happy to extend colocated mining services to individuals and institutions to participate in pooling hash power.&#x20;

Fees begin from 5% of net from December, reducing sequentially in a laddered approach for each subsequent month with an aim to draw down to 0.1% eventually as operations scale.

However, the fees remain size-dependent and negotiable for participants wanting to get a better rate.&#x20;

Interested parties looking to operate at scale can reach us on <signmeup@GhostDAG.org> to talk about preferential pricing.&#x20;

All calculations are performed at a rate of USD 0.1 kWh&#x20;

Site visits (2 way NDA factored) and customized options can be facilitated given successful closure of high value deals. &#x20;

All institutional and individual pools operate outside of the GDAG pool in order to avoid any confusion and maintain transparency for respective entities.&#x20;

## Staking Tiers Pool 1 (Stake GDAG, earn GDAG - WETH LP)

**IMPORTANT**: Staking and Unstaking tax of 2% will apply, stakers are advised to ensure the tier qualification is met AFTER the tax. \
\
**Note:** **Staking Tax is 0% until 14:00 UTC on Monday, 18th Dec.**

**For example**: Tier 1 threshold is 28700 GDAG and above, so a user will need to stake 29450+ to qualify for the Tier.&#x20;

<table><thead><tr><th width="314">Tiers</th><th>Reward Rate</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Tier 1 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 28700
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 5 x 5 / 100000000</td></tr><tr><td><p>Tier 2 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 287000
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 6 x 8 / 100000000</td></tr><tr><td><p>Tier 3 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 2870000
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 7 x 14 / 100000000</td></tr><tr><td><p>Tier 4 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 28700000
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 8 x 19 / 100000000</td></tr><tr><td><p>Tier 5 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 143500000
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 9 x 24 / 100000000</td></tr><tr><td><p>Tier 6 </p><pre class="language-remix-solidity"><code class="lang-remix-solidity">stakeAmount >= 287000000
</code></pre></td><td>gdagLPBalance x 10 x 30 / 100000000</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Sample Staking journey and Reward Rate calculation:**&#x20;

1. User stakes 30,000,000 GDAG Tokens
2. He or she is in Tier 4 after the 2% Staking Tax
3. &#x20;Now, Check GDAG LP Balance (The amount of GDAG LP Tokens held in the staking CA), If GDAG LP Balance is 100,000, the daily earnings would be:&#x20;

100,000 x 8 x 19 / 100000000 = 0.152 GDAG LP Tokens

**NOTE:** This is an example and will vary frequently, given the available GDAG LP Balance to distribute keeps changing as users stake and unstake regularly.  Multiple community made calculators are available for users to track the actual daily rate however it is advisable to perform the simple task of calculation as given above to avoid any confusion.&#x20;

**Staking Contract:**&#x20;

**How to Stake?**\
**Live Demo**: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEzCuPCZjI0>

**Staking Link**: [GhostDAG.org/pool1](https://www.ghostdag.org/pool1)

**Why is there a 2% Stake and Unstake Tax?**<br>

LPs are the backbone of any DeFi based project, and as a de-facto community owned project, it is imperative to incentivize holders to have a long term vision. Therefore a 2% stake and unstake tax has been employed to disincentivize short term swing traders from participating in the LP decentralization process.&#x20;

Additionally, users will note that majority of the Utility based projects charge as much as a 5/5 Tax on trading. However for GDAG, the 4% Buy tax and 2% Stake-Unstake Tax still add up to 8% only.&#x20;

This tax is utilized to further reward stakers by circling back into relevant Pools.&#x20;

**What is the APY / APR?** \
\
Any prospective earnings made from staking GDAG to receive GDAG-WETH LP Tokens is an extra bonus over and above the mining rewards and as such not the primary driver of the Project, given this is a mining project with the primary aim of redirecting KAS Mining rewards to holders of the Token.&#x20;

Therefore the LP Token is to be considered as a gate-pass and nothing more. Any resulting earnings materialized by breaking the LP Token, or earning trading fees (0.3% of all transactions proportionate to the % of holders LP Tokens in the total pool) is an extra bonus provided to incentivize long term ownership of the Project decentralized to GDAG holders.  &#x20;

**Why stake GDAG tokens instead of just airdropping rewards?**

Staking GDAG Tokens cements the long term view of holders interested in the Projects overall success. It is not mandatory to stake, users can hold and trade the GDAG tokens off their own free will without engaging with the staking pools, but will also forefeit the mining rewards as a result.&#x20;

**What are the ownership functions to be aware of?**&#x20;

Same as employed across the Blocktools portfolio, the GhostDAG staking pools are owned contracts where multiple actions can be performed, as necessitated by the dynamic nature of the industry with relevance to security and contingency measures. Therefore the GhostDAG deployer MineKaspa.eth can change the minimum Stake, Fees, Pool Active Status and rescue LP + Taxed GDAG for circling back into the farms to reward stakers.&#x20;

* **Can I unstake anytime**: Yes, there is no lock-in tenure. Note you will pay 2% tax everytime you stake or unstake
* **When should I claim rewards**: Claim it at your convenience, different strategies apply, common sense is to await larger accumulation and low gas cost to claim periodically. Ensure to claim rewards regularly.
* **Can I add to Stake**: Yes you can add to existing stakes without impacting your prior stake. When in doubt, claim rewards prior to updating, await UI update over 24 hours, you will not lose your rewards interim.
* **I unstaked some amount but am still staked for some amount**: Check the tier you fall into after unstaking, the revised Tier calculation will apply based on the leftover amount that is in the stake
* **What is an LP Token, why is it needed**: <https://docs.uniswap.org/contracts/v2/concepts/protocol-overview/how-uniswap-works>
* **My earned rewards is fluctuating**: This is normal, as people constantly join and leave the pool, the code will need to re-calibrate the available rewards allocated for that Tier and manage distributions for the new number of stakers in that Tier accordingly (whether lesser or more)
* **Getting a high gas error when trying to unstake**: Use a lower decimal, for example instead of 10.12345 use 10.123&#x20;
